  8. Data Encryption Standard (DES), the ElGamal Public-key Cryptosystem, and the
  9. N.I.S.T. Digital Signature and Secure Hash Algorithms (DSA/SHA). It provides
  10. virtually unbreakable security for sensitive word processing documents,
  11. spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, FAX transmissions, and telex transmissions.
  12. Additional features include digital signatures, message authentication, ASCII
  13. conversion, data compression, file erasure utilities, and a complete
  14. context-sensitive online help system. The National Institute of Standards and
  15. Technology has proposed the Digital Signature Algorithm as the federal Digital
  16. Signature Standard.
